TIP Brings Buoyancy Modules to Technip
Sunday, January 22nd, 2012On Friday, TIP will assemble and load 327 buoyancy modules to barge to be shipped to Technip. The cargo was moved from shore by crane, and placed on barge to be secured for travel. Upon arrival, Technip will prepare the modules for shipment via vessel to their final destination.
Traditionally, buoyancy modules are used in water depths greater than 20 meters. To reduce the amount of tension required to maintain stability of the drilling riser, buoyancy modules are added to the riser joints to make them close to neutrally buoyant when submerged.
